My name is Kevin DiGuiseppe, and welcome to my e-portfolio. My first year at Penn State University has been more than I ever could have asked for. My classes have challenged me to better myself and I believe I have succeeded. I have learned better time management, more effective study habits, better work ethic, and I have increased my wealth of general knowledge. One class which definitely helped in this has been my CAS137H/138T class. This is a communications arts and sciences class which focuses mainly on public speaking and the effective use of rhetoric, rhetoric being the choice of words when speaking in a persuasive manner. The works I feature in this portfolio reflect my growth of knowledge towards, and my improved use of rhetoric when arguing a point. In this class I have also learned more about leading a civic life and involving myself in my community and its issues. The works I highlight show my increased awareness of what goes on in my surroundings and my increased ability to provide ideas to improve them. As for my career goals, I hope to become a corporate lawyer. My communications skills will help me with this when I am drawing up legal documents, debating with business partners, and speaking in a professional manner to make a better impression when I interview.
